Marilyn Prescott uses art to transcend to a higher dimension of consciousness. She draws inspiration from the natural world, philosophy, science and literature. Often her painting will lead her to metaphysical explorations. Her newest series, Nature and Memory, explores the interaction of memory and the concept of time.
Marilyn’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally since 1990. Since 1994 she has also worked as a freelance illustrator for a variety of clients in the pharmaceutical, psychiatric, medical and book publishing industries. She has won several awards, and her work has been the subject of reviews in prominent newspapers, including the Orange County Register, and the Los Angeles Times. She has also been interviewed for newspapers and art journals, including Artweek.
Marilyn earned a BA from California State University at Long Beach and has done graduate work at the University of California at Irvine, and at California State University at Fullerton.
