Michael Pitzer is an award-winning, Executive Creative Director with 30+ years experience working in Los Angeles, Scottsdale, and Silicon Valley.
Michael earned his Associates degree in Marketing Communications Technology at SCCC, Port Huron, MI, and attended 7 semesters at ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena, CA before joining Dailey & Associates, Los Angeles, CA in 1983. His visual arts mentors include painter and illustrator Patrick Nagel, illustrator and designer David Mocarski, painter Laurence Dreiband, painter Nancy Thayer and sculptor Russ Thayer.
During his years as an advertising an Art Director, Michael worked with photography icons; Carl Furuta, John Bilecky, and Mark NcIntyre. It was this groups attention to detail, image texture and lighting that put Michael on a path of capturing the changing landscape of old neon signs across America leading to his self-published book, “Signs of a Changing America”.
Michael has exhibited his sign photography at The Barton Gallery, Sacramento, CA and the Artemedia Fine Art Gallery, Scottsdale, AZ.
Michael became a member of the Fig Tree Gallery in Fresno, CA, in 2018. He currently resides in Fresno with his wife Lynn.
